Vapour blasting, also known as aqua blasting and wet blasting, uses a media, for example glass beads, mixed with hot water which is pumped through a delivery nozzle with compressed air. Anti-rust and degreasing agents can be added to the water to help prevent flash rusting after cleaning and also help remove small amounts of grease and oil. Less abrasive than dry blasting, the process leaves a silky smooth satin finish. The process is suitable for both ferrous and non-ferrous metals. Applications include:-
- Motorcycle crankcases, barrels, cylinder heads, gearboxes etc.
- Mould cleaning
- Satin finishing
- Engine components
- De-burring of machined components
All components should be degreased and as clean as possible when received please. Should heavily soiled components be received, there may be an additional charge for cleaning before blasting.
BMB will notify the customer of any damage found to items during a pre-blasting visual check, and of any damage found after blasting.
